Echognome
Your partner made a penalty pass of 1♦. I'd really need to know if, by agreement, your pass would now be forcing. In that case, I would pass. I want to hear more from partner before I decided what I'm going to do next. If pass is not forcing (or I have had no discussions), I will bid 3♣. I want to force game first. I can follow over partner's likely 3♦ call with a 3♥ call, then a 4♦ call, etc.
han
I don't think pass is forcing now. I will bid 2H.

I included pass for those who would like to gamble whether it is forcing or not.
han
I see two votes for 2D. (!) It seems clear to me that 2D is natural and does not show extra values.
cherdano
I posted too late. Now I have to agree with han twice.
Gerben42
2♥ seems descriptive, they probably escaped
Apollo81
This is a difficult problem because it's not clear what certain calls mean in this auction. Is pass forcing or not? Is 2♦ natural or a cuebid? Is 2♥ a big hand or ELC? When I have discussed these things, these answers are usually pretty inconvenient for this hand. The one bid that partner will get right for sure is 3♣, so I will bid that. I would imagine that partner will often follow up 3♦ if he has no 4-card major. I then have an easy 3♥ bid. Later I will discuss what a 2♦ bid means here.
nige1
IMO 3♣ = 10, 2♥ = 5, 6♦ = 4, 5♦ = 3, _P = 1.
P_Marlowe
Hi, 3C, the alternative being 2H, but I thinkI force to game. Although I am not convinced, that the penaltypass promised values (making pass nonforcing),it may simply be, that partner looked at 5 diamonds and did not have any real alternative. I will pass 3D from partner and raise 3H / 3S to game. With kind regardsMarlowe
Guest Jlall
3C mainly because I'm not sure what's forcing and I will likely end up in 5D or 6D anyways.
Elianna
I bid 2H with my hand. My partner held xx x QT98xx T98x. He passed 2H. The other table got to a making 5D after a 1C opening.
