Let me explain some more ...

 

I have some code that I use to generate hands for practicing. The idea is that we spend a lot of time practicing tough hands on which there is potential for many IMPs to swing. Basically it selects hands based on strength and distribution - the more distribution the less strength is required.

 

I have used this idea in a face to face fun tournament run as a fundraiser which seemed to be quite successful.

I prefer random hands. I really don't like the "what could be the clue with this hand?" consideration.

He should have a list of players ID.

If I remember it correctly, someone did also post

the list in a thread (Elianna?).

 

I would prefer the weekend, Saturday too Sunday.

I will play if I am free, though I am not often free. Tuesday evenings usually work for me.

I will run the mechanics of it if it is a goer, I suggest midnight on a friday or saturday night, might be the time we can get the highest attendance

 

Let me know what format you want, time constraints and how many boards you want

 

 

I will also, keep all mobiles, handbags, rattles and general signalling devices under lock and key until the tournamnet is over, I will not allow psyches and run the tourney under the auspices of our local bridge club (see below)

 

1/. Old people can be rude at the table

1a/. Old people can dribble

2/. young people can try and turn up sober (Justin, you may strugggle here)

2a/. Young people are not allowed to dribble, unless the players at the table are cute

3/. No conventions that a beginner does not have a defence to

4/. All experts or anyone with more than 50 masterpoints has to start with a 50 imp handicap

5/. All hands will favour north south

6/. Any Welsh players are not allowed to sign at the table

7/. Americans are not allowed to try and take over (using sanctions or military force, though they are allowed to try and bore us into submission)

8/. Black tie dress code

9/. Everyone has to wear a UN Flag for the event

10/. Bring your own sandwiches
