EarlPurple
What a problem I have had. I have edited my card to use because a tourney doesn't allow something on our card so we have to change our system accordingly. But the software just ignores the changes and shows the old explanations. I save the card with a new name and load it but it loads the old one. I am at the table sort of time and about to open 2♣ and the explanation is wrong and I spend a minute or so trying to get the right card to load. And when partner opened 2♣ I also had a problem trying to ensure it shows what we really want it to mean. I really think the software is hard to use too. Far too many menu options are disabled when they shouldn't be.
kaltstart
I had the same problem until recently. In the meanwhile a friend told me how you can load the updated cc: If you change your cc, do it in another folder, not in the folder convcards\username (for example copy the cc, paste it in another folder and change it there). If you sit down at a table with your usual p, there will be again the message "found cc" etc., but that´s again the old one. So you just have to load the new one out of the other folder. From then on this new cc will be the one which will be automatically loaded. This way works, but I don´t know how the bbo software works and why a direct change of the cc in the original folder didn´t work for me. hotShot
I think the server holds a copy of your CC and uses that. Probably it does not notice a change in your local file.
Old York
HiPerhaps the system is using the cc of your regular partner?try clearing the loaded cc, and then opening and using your new card (correctly re-named)If the standard bbo card does not allow you to use your private agreements, then maybe this is a good thing. Use the "Manage Conventions" button to find the agreement you need?If you are trying to alter the meaning of 2C opening bid, then you are altering the system beyond recognition? Also, why would you wish to see your partner's alerts? Imho this is an unethical use of FD. Convention Cards are designed to alert your oppo, not to help your partnership to remember it's own private agreements.
