Echognome
I start with 3♥. I think next round is more interesting.
pclayton
I start with 3♥. I think next round is more interesting. Well, 3♥ will likely preempt us off a cold 3N opposite xxx xx AKxxxx Kx but I don't see anything else better.
cherdano
Of course 3N could be right but it seems against the odds. (To start with, it will be wrong almost always when partner has 5 diamonds only.) I also bid 3H.
Guest Jlall
Agree with 3H
kenrexford
Fortunately, I play that a double here is a "stolen cue" double. That makes this a lot easier. I'll post my problem hand later, when it comes up.

The problem was he picked a way too strong example lol Duh! I thought that was quite humorous as well. I'm not saying that I won't have a problem hand. However, I think showing strong support via the double is more important in this situation, because 3NT is so often the right end spot. sathyab
Do people play 2nt as natural here ? If not, we could start with with 2nt and bid 3♥ over partner's 3♣, showing a ♥ stopper and ♦ support.
andy_h
3H for me also
brianshark
3♥ and pass if 4♦ comes back to you.
miguelm
I tend to trust partner's 2nd level 2nd seat O/Cs... so 3N here. The only rewason I can find behind 3H is a remote slam possibility, but then again, partner can hold hands with which 3N makes when 5D fails. jkdood
Over 3H (my choice) no reason 3N is lost forever. On the illustrated example hand (xxx xx AKxxxx Kx) Pard has a relatively easy "ambiguous 3-level" 3s call to keep 3n in the picture.
