Do you agree with bidding 3 clubs on the previous round? What would you bid now? Would you bid differently playing with an expert?
jdaming
I would bid 3♣ seems to be fairly natural and easy to understand. His 4♠ is promising I think at this point you would start your keycard sequence. Ideally you could use somthing like exclusion but this partner probably not. If roman keycard hopefully partner has the long strong ♠ suit he promised. With expert Depends on what parntership agreement is. What is 3♥? What is 4♦? I think I would probably be bidding ♣ unless I had another great bid to describe my hand.
P_Marlowe
2S was Michaels? If yes, 3C is the bid you have to make, double will get you nowhere. Now I bid 6C, the guy with the heart voidis on lead. With kind regardsMarlowe Playing with an expert I would not bid different, the problem is, I have a heart looser the Jackwill to 5th, and I may or may not have a club looser, I am going to bid 6, but dont believethat I can gather enough information to bid 7with confidence. Keycard with this hand is beyond sick, considering that 2 of the 3 keycards partner could have are totally wasted values.

I dunno about that. If partner has all 3 plus the spade queen I'll take my chances in 7NT, if he doesn't I'll settle for 6♣. Partner's going to be dummy. Why not check for a grand slam before settling for a small?

You are probably getting a horrible spade split here with your loony RHO making a Michaels call with a J-empty heart suit. ♠AKQ/♦A isn't even enough to guarantee six. I would try 5♠ which gets to the root of the issue. I might even hear 6♣.
cherdano
I think keycard is right despite the void.Partner jumped to 4♠ in a game forcing auction. I have aces, and even a trump honor, of course we are playing spades. And none of his keycards are wasted, as he probably has to pull trump before he can cash my heart honors. I agree that there are probably better ways to bid this than Blackwood, but I don't think 6♣ is one of them. While it's true that if partner has only AKQ of spades and the ace of diamonds, we're not making 7NT. On the other hand, he opened a spade and jumped to 4 without any spade support from me. How do I get to find out if he's AKQJxx? If partner has xx in clubs, we may make 7NT but be down in 6♣! As you rightly point out, spades aren't going to be the only suit that's going to split badly.
