gwnn
1♣(16+)-2♣-p-3♣? AKQ98AJxKxQJx MP's, not sure about the vulnerability. partner would usually double with a 5-7 unless it's a very bad hand. if you double, partner of course bids 3♦. Free
3NT wtp? No Dbl, no 3♠, just 3NT...
jdonn
Since partner could have doubled to show 5-7 I would just pass. Certainly if I was going to bid though it would be 3NT.
Guest Jlall
pass WTP? The auction is not over, and if it does end here I'm happy.
zasanya
Partner seems to have 0-2 cards in ♣ and 0-4 hcp .I have only 7 tricks in ♠ .I have 4 almost certain defensive tricks asnd possibly 5th and setting trick. So passing seems best course of action at MPs. Hilver
Just pass. Partner has ears, eyes and brains.
jtfanclub
The way we play it, X here shows a strong balanced hand, and that's what I have. Unfortunately, this hand has a lot of problems with calling it strong and balanced. It's barely strong enough for 'strong' (in a 1♣ context) and I have a 5 card spade suit, so we may end up in a 5-2 diamond fit instead of a 5-3 spade fit. Maybe I would be better off passing. I think it the opponents are NV I have to X, as long as partner understands that that's penalty oriented and not takeout. If they make it, well, we were probably getting a bad board anyways. V I can probably afford to pass. 200 should be a high enough score for a good result, and if I set it exactly one I can cry about it later.
