uday
If anyone here would like to give us a hand by testing the next version of the BBO program, read on. Version 3.3.10 is available for testing. It includes the following features 1) Friend/Enemy lists are now stored on our server, not your PC. What this means is that when you login from multiple PCs, the same list is used across all PCs 2) You can make notes about any player by right-clicking the player's name. The space is very limited, but there it is. 3) You can now opt to spec a single hand as a spec. As dummy, you can opt to spec only declarer's hand. Access these options in the usual way - left click on your own name to bring up your profile. Warnings: a) If something goes wrong, your friends list may be inaccessible until we fix the problem, or may be lost altogether. Please backup your original BBO folder somewhere if you care. ;) This is software that we think works. We don't know that it works. Your bridge may be interrupted. That said, it would be very useful to us to have you use the software so that you can find bugs for us, or make suggestions. Please report bugs here, as part of this thread, or send an email to support@bridgebase.com Installing the beta 1) Make a copy of your original BBO folder (c:bridge base online) 2) Download and run http://www.bridgebase.com/3.3.10/3310upgrade.exe Getting rid of the beta 1) Remove the BBO folder (c:bridge base online)2) Rename the copy of the folder you made earlier - to c:bridge base online or 1) Remove the bbo folder2) Install the current version from www.bridgebase.com/online3) Copy your friends/enemies file over from your backup. (replace "uday" with your own username) Your friends file is c:bridge base onlineuday_friends.txtYour enemies file is c:bridge base onlineuday_enemies.txt Thanks - uday
Lestat
Installed beta version. Noticed immediately that Peeking Problem still exists. I had hoped this was to be fixed in this next version. Felt very guilty today just while verifying problem still exists. LOL.
uday
Thought the fix was in, but i'm sure FG will know what is going on
Rain
Hi Uday and everyone I was very excited about the new features so I d/led it...heh I noticed the partnership bidding bug has been solved...but didn't see anyone report it. I didn't think it was important enough to report in the past..heh. --------------------------Anyway, found a bug...do you realise if you are at a table, and you want to see other tables by clicking 'Tables", the tables shift/jump about a bit? If you are at partnership bidding, this isn't affected though. Odd bug, haha. --------------------------Well..partnership bidding is always a bit odd....In the past, the dormant EW hands will appear to make bids. ie, bids that should have been made by N will instead seem to be made by W in the "movies" No such bug now.. But the partnership bidding board numbers change, seemingly randomly... It went from 43 to 34 at my table just now... Anyways, have a good day! Rain :-*
uday
FG says he has fixed it again :) and that it will make it to the next beta or next release, whichever we wind up using
Gerardo
To add to Rain's reprted bug about table listings, the current table, in the list appears to follow the mouse to put iself out of (alphabetical) order, while the pointer is hovering over the table list. Also, current table appears at pointer's location if you just sit for a half second or so at the table list.Maybe a feature? ----------------------------------- Very miinor nitpick, can you correct the "Venezuela" spelling before going gold (current "Venezuala"). Reported to me shortly after 3.3.9 went gold. Thank you!
Rain
Another post---This is more like a difficulty I have, and not a bug, I don't think. I keep losing my friends list..have tried everything I can think of: 1) Copy and paste 2) Copy and paste twice to "overwrite" 3) Do a new friends list (Exhausting work right clicking and adding everyone one by one by one by...) Nothing works at the moment....Apologies to everyone who has me as "friend" and keep seeing me log in and out :) From Rain the Friendless :P
Gipper
I'm not sure if this is a bug or a design feature. If you select the option to only kib one of the players and that player subsequently becomes DUMMY, you only see the hand of the player you elected to kib. uday
For a while, players with huge friends lists were not seeing their friends. Fixed now. A new beta is not needed (the fix was on the bbo computer)
csdenmark
I have set for watching partner and watch all 4 hands kibitzing. First time I tried South and dummy was the only disclosed. Leaving table and coming back, all correct disclosing all 4 hands. I kibitz and looks through table list. Setting pointer to any player at a table, the table in which room I am in is the only ones I can access player info for. This dont happen if I set pointer to an empty seat.
