The weak NT's advantage (over strong NT) is that it can be opened more frequently, has more pre-emptive effect and often wins the early part score battle quickly. It's natural disadvantage is when it goes for a number from time to time. If you don't have a penalty double, you take away that disadvantage. Given the methods, I guess I'll bid 2♣, it being slightly safer than 2♠ and leaving more room for a constructive auction should pard have a few points over there.
