Pas , 4NT..?

#1 Pass over 3H is correct, you are red / they are

green, maybe the actual oppoenents will let you

play without a X, but I doubt a lot will

#2 Now pass as well, make it green vs. red and we

can talk about 4NT now, since partner is a passed

hand, and since green vs. red you can go -3, 4NT

becomes an option.

With kind regards

Marlowe

All kinds of great things can happen if don't pass.

1) Opponents may think we have some incredible shape and compete unnecessarily a level too high.

2) Opponents may not understand the concept of "vulnerability" and bid on.

3) Opponents may laugh so hard when we go for 1700 that they lose concentration on the next two boards.

4) This may be a great way to get rid of partner who keeps insisting on playing with us.

5) We can try out the great excuse "I had two of my spades mixed in with my clubs and I thought I was 1=0=5=7."

That was kind of insurance I took with my 4NT bid. These Opps will not always decide correctly after it.

p-(3H)-P-(4H)

p-(p)-4NT-(DBL)

5C-(P)-P-(5H)

LHO had a 6=3=2=2 with good spades. 5H was down 1 and 5C would also have been down 1.
