#1 Pass

#2 3S (or 4D ... if I trust partner gets the message,

I am not convinced I would have thought about

it, but it sounds logical) seems right, you may also

try a pass, intending to bid 4NT over 4S / and to sell

out below game, but this maybe a little bit too deep.

With kind regards

Marlowe

Pass then 4D leaping michaels. 4D must be leaping michaels logically.

Ok partner won't think so on this deal, but couldn't you have passed as dealer with, say, 4171? But I'm not saying I disagree, just sort of wondering out loud.

I'd agree with pass and 3S, but I wonder will partner now think I am asking him for a spade stop to play 3N? (Not that it might not work, but he will probably have a different idea of my hand if he thinks that way?)

We are a passed hand you know...

I would open 2, weak hand with 5 hearts and 4 card or longer in a minor suit.

This Muiderberg convention is quite popular in Holland.

When the opps bid 2 and 3 after that I'll bid 4.

Then my partner will know what to do over 4.

I won't open 2 Muiderberg, even if i'm playing it, i think 5+7 it's not a Muiderberg hand.
