sfbp
Tourneys where players can talk to the whole room are becoming annoying. Alright, so maybe don't play in them. But if there was another option in chat to suppress anything except TD's and the players at your table, that would be a nice improvement. adTHANKSvance

pigpenz
i have noticed that this may be more related to the fact that BBO has gone on MSN. I noticed this when i was trying out BBO on MSN seems everyone was talking about the hands on the tourney I was kibbing while people were still playing, then maybe its not reltated to the client of MSN
rigour6
If that occurs, the TD can disable players chatting to the tourney as a whole. I typically have it on and I have few problems. I warn the player that others are still playing the boards. Sometimes players are having a relaxed time and get joking around to the tourney. That's of course a different issue than them talking about the hands. Whether one likes that sort of jocularity at the table is a matter of taste, my tourneys are all relaxed, so I don't mind, but I suppose if I thought it was going too far and we were turning into a chat room with cards I can turn it off. jillybean
I dislike like tournament noise so if I play in chatty tournament I make sure my chat box is minimized and use F6 frequently. If I run a tournament I'm usually also playing so must have chat on but I remind people its there if they need help. I think its nice to have the option, people can chose the type of game they want to play.

In ACBL events, I often mark the director as an enemy so that I don't get barraged with announcements.
Old York
HiI agree totally. If we can switch off enemy chat, lobby chat and Viewgraph messages then why not have the option to switch off Tournament chat? or have a simple method to only allow chat from friends? (table chat must always be left on)I always try to switch off Kibitzer chat in the last round of any Tournament, but some unwanted comments are unavoidable.I have worn out my F6 key. lol Tony (Duke of York)
