julie5607
I have recently been spending a lot of time at the teaching tables with my partner/mentor, and I have to say it is the best bridge learning tool I have ever seen. Really great job Fred! Prior to discovering how the teaching tables worked, we spent a lot of time at Partnership Bidding, also an incredibly valuable tool, but limited in that the "opps" don't interfere and there is no way to play out the hand after bidding it. The teaching tables are a much more "all around" learning tool, and as I said we are enjoying them very much. I am wondering, however, if there are any plans in the works to combine the functions of the two tables, i.e. a teacher can have control over the types of hands provided, as in Partnership Bidding, and also manipulate the other three hands to provide a full bidding, playing, and defending experience. Just a wish list item, of course, but thought it could be a valuable addition. Thanks, Julie ;)

Yes, for sure we will eventually extend the functionality at both of these types of tables to make the sort of thing you mention (and more) possible. Unlikely that this will happen anytime soon as I really have my hands full with other improvements to BBO (notably tournaments), but I promise that one day you will see improvements in the areas you mention.
