pclayton
I played in an ACBL tourney yesterday and an opponent made the deepest finesse I have ever seen. [hv=n=sa2&w=skqj3&e=s4&s=st98765]399|300|[/hv] Declarer led the 5, and floated it. I congratulated my partner for not splitting. Obviously declarer made the wrong play in the suit. nige1
I don't have the book to hand, but as far as I remember, Giza Otlik and Hugh Kelsey describe similar plays in "Adventures in Card Play", which, the authors claim, you might get right at the table eg ♥ J9xxx opposite ♥ A8
