Apollo81
unfavorable MPs ♠AKx♥x♦AKQxxx♣Jxx (3♣)-p-(p)-?
gwnn
it's OK to miss a game once in a while, vulnerable at MP's, but it's certainly not OK to bid a 3NT off 6 or 7 club tricks from start. unhappy 3♦
ArtK78
3♦. It is heavy, but you really don't have any rational alternative.

Apollo81
Here are the scores you would get from the actual deal. Partner had xxx AKJxx xxx xx. I chose 3NT. pass: +150 (near top)3♦: +130 (avg+)x,♦: -100 (-)3n: -200 (near bottom) [AKQxxx on lead]
pclayton
3n: -200 (near bottom) [AKQxxx on lead] Unlucky...
inquiry
3n: -200 (near bottom) [AKQxxx on lead] Unlucky... Yup... pretty sure Marshal Miles would advocate 3NT, which would have been my bid as well.
jdonn
3NT for me.
ASkolnick
I saw the answer and I would still double and bid diamonds. If partner has the stopper, he can bid NT. If he has nothing, 4D is OK. I move one of his clubs to somewhere else, and 5D looks pretty good. So, I would have no regrets being in 5 Diamonds.
