pclayton
Here's a hand from Wednesday PM: [hv=d=n&v=n&n=saq842hak42d32ct6&w=skt765hj96dq4c743&e=s9hq85daj9875caj9&s=sj3ht73dkt6ckq852]399|300|Scoring: IMP[/hv] I played in 3♣ after RHO made a 2♦ overcall. The play went: 1. ♦4 (?), 2, A, 62. ♦7, K, Q, 33. ♠J, 5, 2, 9 Perhaps its better to just play ♦ruff, club up, but I took a second spade hook. 4. ♠3, 6, Q, ♣95-6-7 ♣A, ♣, ♣ The position is now: [hv=d=n&v=n&n=saq842hak42d32ct6&w=skt765hj96dq4c743&e=s9hq85daj9875caj9&s=sj3ht73dkt6ckq852]399|300|Scoring: IMP[/hv] There are (at least) two ways to get home from here. Do you see them both?
mikeh
well, the one that would occur to me at the table is a heart to dummy, followed by the spade A, on which rho has to pitch a diamond, and we pitch a heart and another spade, on which rho has to pitch another diamond as we ruff in. Then we lead the last trump: rho has to keep a spade, so stiffs his heart as we pitch the now useless spade. RHO is down to 2 hearts and the diamond J and can't pitch the diamond, so the heart suit is established.
TimG
Does this count as the same line as MikeH: trump (west must pitch a heart, otherwise heart over, Ace of Spades, spade ruff establishing the spade); heart over, Ace of Spades, spade ruff? Guest Jlall
Isn't this just a double squeeze? You can do it simultaneously or non simultaneously as the above posters have pointed out.

Right - I misspoke - its either non-simul or simul. There aren't three endings. I was thinking you could pitch a heart from the board on the penultimate club, but that does not work. What I found interesting is in the non-simultaneous version is that it appears to be a ruffing squeeze against RHO but thats sort of an illusion, since its as though you are playing the trump from hand pitching a spade, instead of ruffing a spade in hand.
