and the bidding goes (playing a natural system, and opps were quiet):

1 - 1

2 - 2*

?

 

(*) = 4th suit game forcing

 

There is a standard answer for this, lets see how many beginners/intermediates know this one already.

Ok, seems like half of you voters know (or guessed) the usual treatment :P . The problem with this hand is that we dont have a control (so cant bid NT), no 3 card (so no 3), no 5 card and no 6 card . So we actually don't have a real bid.

 

The sollution used these days for such hands is a rebid in your first suit ( here). 3 is the correct bid, but I have a little simpathy for 3 because you have a top honour. All other bids are totally wrong imo.
