andy_h
Nothing too fancy shmancy about this. Just wanted to hear everyone's thoughts. You are South, East is the dealer. Your RHO opens 1NT (15-18), LHO transfers to hearts, RHO superaccepts with 3H (no other form of superaccepts) and LHO bids 4H. [hv=d=e&v=n&s=sq983h973dk76cqt7]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] Your lead. ArtK78
A spade at IMPs. My tricks in the other suits are not going away, but my spade trick(s) might go away. We need a trick in each side suit and a second trick in one of them. If we have one or two spade tricks we need to get them quickly, before they go away on declarer's long minor suit (after he gives me a trick). A heart at matchpoints. The spade lead is risky - it could give away a trick. I am willing to take that chance at IMPs to improve the chances that we beat the contract. But not at matchpoints. Hanoi5
I also thought of a trump but, what is Josh's law?
jdonn
I also thought of a trump but, what is Josh's law? Lead a trump with one or two non-touching honors in every side suit. Lots of exceptions, such as at the 5+ level, or obvious ones like partner overcalling. It's a big winner :(
