Gerben42
At favourable vuln, world class opponents. [hv=d=w&v=e&s=st8643h4dak73ca87]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] 2♥ Pass 2♠ <you>2NT Pass 4♥ <you again> 2♥ = Weak 22♠ = Asking for singleton2NT = Singleton ♠ What would Dbl of 2♠ be for you, and do you bid it here? If not, do you bid 3♠? If you chose neither action, do you bid something over 4♥?
awm
I like double of 2♠ here. You can see pretty early on where this auction is going (4♥). It seems like you could easily have a sacrifice or even a making game here. Bidding in this auction is dangerous, but the opponents gave us a nice opportunity to show spades without much risk. ArtK78
Double of 2♠ shows spades (I suppose it could show a takeout double of 2♥ if you have that agreement with your partner). I pass throughout. I do not want my partner leading a spade, and I don't have any good reason to believe that this is our hand. We could be getting jobbed here, but to stick your neck out on a 10 high suit is too much.
gnasher
Double of 2♠ should be a takeout double of hearts, just like 2♥ pass 2NT dbl I'd do that.
Codo
I think double is take out for hearts, but even it it shows spades, I have both, so easy double.
Finch
Double of 2♠ should be a takeout double of hearts, just like 2♥ pass 2NT dbl I'd do that. me too (and I'd pass 4H)

pclayton
If 2♠ is natural, we agreed that double is takeout of hearts, correct? With 2♠ as artificial, double is relatively risk-free.
helene_t
I voted pass throughout because dbl is lead-directing but thinking more about it, dbl is probably ok.
Gerben42
I expected this, so same auction - new hand: [hv=s=skqtxxhxxxdkxxcax]133|100|[/hv]
Finch
But now I play double as showing spades, don't I?
gnasher
I expected this, so same auction - new hand: 3♠. You did say we were non-vulnerable, didn't you?
Guest Jlall
Crack 4H if you cannot X 2S for t/o.
Hanoi5
I'd duble 2♠ with the first hand, bid 3♠ with the second.
Fluffy
I play that double of 2 spades shows spades, but that is a poor lead, I think I would pass and double 4 hearts later regreting not having doubled before. The second hand doubles 2 spades and passes the rest.
655321
1) Double (takeout)2) 3♠. Obviously would prefer not to be 5332 for this action, but I am hoping RHO has a heart fit. If he has a strong hand without a heart fit - well, this won't be the first time I have gone for a number.
