I just see partner squirming on the run of the whatevers, and then getting squeezed, and then getting endplayed. A diamond doesn't seem particularly risky and hopefully it can get something going. Fluffy Posted July 12, 2008 Author Report Share Posted July 12, 2008 I led a diamond as well, prepare for a nightmare :rolleyes: [hv=n=sxxh?????dajxcxxx&w=sahxdq108xxckqjxxx&e=sk10xxha????dkxxca&s=sqj9xxxhxxd9xc10xx]399|300|[/hv] I didn't have the time to check out the heart lie out, but on a diamond 9 lead, you stablish dummy's 5th suit, and at the same time you keep the key entry for the 6 card suit as well, declarer quickly claims 12 tricks. If declarer had something like ♥AQ9xx I think on a spade lead he would rate to go around 3 down, this means a diamond lead had given them 'just' 7 tricks.
