andy_h
Maybe this is a stupid question...but I'm wondering how you would bid these hands using your favourite gadgets (with a bit more emphasis on a 2/1 system and/or transfer responses if possible). kenrexford
2NT-3♣(mod. puppet)3♦(2-4♠, 2-3♥)-3NT (down one) or 2NT-3♣(puppet)3♦-3♠3NT-P (down one) or 2NT-3♣(either)-(double)3♦(either, but no club stopper)-whatever The double gets us to 5♦ eventually, or possibly 4♥. Bad double.
han
1D - 1H2NT - 3C*3D - 3NT.. 3C is a transfer to diamonds, 3NT is choice of games with 4 hearts and diamonds. I think opener has a 4H bid.

Echognome
1D - 1H2NT - 3C*3D - 3NT.. 3C is a transfer to diamonds, 3NT is choice of games with 4 hearts and diamonds. I think opener has a 4H bid. I would repeat this auction playing standardish. With Phil, it would start: 1♣* - 1♦**1N*** - ? * Natural or 11-13 bal or 17-19 bal** 4+♥*** 17-19 bal, no 4♥ From here it's just what responder wants to do with that. I can see responder just bidding 3NT here. Or he may bid 2♦ then 3♦ showing 4♥, 5♦ and game forcing values (in which case 3NT would be avoided since opener could bid 3♠ showing the club concern). But it's purely speculative seeing both hands what we'd do at the table.
Guest Jlall
1D-1H-2N-3N. Unlike Ken I will make 2 overtricks rather than go down 1.
awm
Here's how Elianna and I would bid it: 1♦ - 1♥1♠ - 2♦2♥ - 3♣3♥ - 4♥ First four bids are natural. Note that we prefer not to rebid 2NT with 18/19 balanced. This keeps us low when responder has garbage (yes we will sometimes bid 1♥ pretty light) and also gives us more room to explore for the right game or slam. Opener's 2♥ rebid is natural and shows extra values. Responder has a great hand on this auction and wants to cooperate, but doesn't have a fifth heart or a club stopper so bids 3♣ "fourth suit forcing." Opener's 3♥ call shows three very strong hearts and denies interest in playing 3NT (or serious slam interest in diamonds opposite a good hand with no club control). Responder's hearts are good enough to cooperate. Note how much easier this is when you don't bypass your spade suit and heart fit in order to rebid 2NT without a club stopper. There is certainly some judgement involved in this auction, but the first four bids are basically automatic in our style and after this start I don't see much chance of landing anywhere but 4♥ or 5♦. skjaeran
I'd bid: 1♣ - 1♦1♥ - 1NT2NT - 3♣3♦ - 3NT4♥ - pass 1♣=2+, 1♦=trf, 1♥=3c+, 1NT=nat, 2NT=18-19 3c♥, 3♣=trf, 3♦=fit, 3NT=suggestion to play (2452), 4♥=suggestion to play (alternative contract is 5♦)
