SoTired
barring playing transfers in this position, the common method for both SA and 2/1 is 2D is natural, constructive, and non-forcing.

Finch
This is an American methods sub-forum, so here's an off-topic reply: in England at least this is played as non-forcing by roughly 30% of the population and forcing by 70% (of those who play it as natural). helene_t
We had a poll about this a few months ago (can't find it now). There was wild disagreement about the strength of 2♦, some requiring zero points, some 6, some 8. Some would play the upper limit as just below game force (say 11 points), some would play it as max. 9 points. But almost everybody agreed that it is non-forcing (although some prefered to play transfers).
andy_h
Yeah, depends on what you want to agree with your partner. http://forums.bridgebase.com/index.php?showtopic=26069&hl=This one Helene? ^^
Rossoneri
Seems NF to me. But yes, I agree it is very ambiguous and varies between partnerships.
rogerclee
Shows constructive values but is NF. I think transfers are a good idea here.

benlessard
Standard is NF. IMO the range should be 4-9 pts and a nice suit. Transfers here are probably a better method.
