kfay
Honestly when I played this hand only one bid kind of occurred to me. I'm sure it was the wrong one. What bid makes you happiest? [hv=d=w&v=b&s=skhajdakqxcqj98xx]133|100|Scoring: IMP(2♠)-P-(3♠)-?[/hv] WOW!!! Sorry I can't believe I missed this. Auction was 2♠-3♠.... they did'nt preempt in hearts. pclayton
3N was the only call that occurred to me initially. Then I thought about the problem. The opps are vul, so LHO isn't on 5 and RHO isn't on two. Pard would need a very specific hand to make 3N - something like ♣AKx or ♦5 times + 3 black tricks or ♦6 times or 2 black tricks. Note that with these hand, 5 of a minor is just as playable. I'm bidding 4♣.
ArtK78
There are two bids that occur to me: 3NT and 4♣. 3NT is the winner if partner has some help in hearts (as little as Txx or Hx) along with a club honor and enough in spades so that the suit is not wide open. 4♣ will lead to a making game if partner can find a raise. To make 5♣, pard needs the AK of clubs or a club honor along with a trick in the majors. If pard doesn't have that much, 4♣ is probably as good as anything. Playing in diamonds is only right if partner has less than 2 clubs and long diamonds, so I am not going to make any attempt to find a diamond contract. Sambolino
i really dislike 3nt, didn't even consider it as an option

kfay
3NT didn't occur to me. I've tried this once before and gotten screwed. Both times were at MPs, though... maybe this is different. I hate double for the obvoius 4♥ that comes back to you. 4♣ seems normal. Maybe it's right. I decided AKQx was as good as AKxxx and bid 4NT. Thoughts? Guest Jlall
I'd bid 4C, my hand isn't that great.
gnasher
Am I the only one that plays 4♣ as clubs and hearts?
Guest Jlall
Am I the only one that plays 4♣ as clubs and hearts? Everyone on the forums plays it when a 5-5 hand is posted, but when this hand is posted they do not play it anymore.
gwnn
Am I the only one that plays 4♣ as clubs and hearts? I also play it as rounded 2 suiter but I have no idea what I'd bid. Double probably? Can we look at partner's hand signal about heart length before we choose?
