Winstonm
Is this a joke? Depending on agreements, I bid 2S (first choice) or 1S (second choice.)
jillybean
I dont think this is a joke. This is a 1♠ overcall, but not a 2♠ overcall as Ive finally learned :)
Winstonm
I dont think this is a joke. This is a 1♠ overcall, but not a 2♠ overcall Ive finally learned :) I have to agree, JB, as I did not pay attention to the adverse vulnerability; however, I stand by my question of whether or not this is a joke if the question is bid or not bid. (In fact, JB, I have strong feelings that intermediate jump overcalls are of higher value at adverse vul. - after all, at adverse, you are more likely to get preempted so it is more valuable to have better definition to the bid you do make.) MikeRJ
2S if feeling aggressive, 1S feeling cautious. Never pass. Mike

It was not terrible in any way - purely unlucky, although as Jilly pointed out (rightly so) you way wish to be a tad more cautious vul. versus NV. Guest Jlall
Do NOT bid 2S with hands like these imo. Opening 2 and overcalling 2 is much different.
skjaeran
Obvious 1♠♠ overcall at any vulnerability IMO. Too much defence for 2♠. And also too good for 2♠.
kenrexford
1♠. 2♠, IMO, is best as intermediate when RvW. 1♠X also could have been passed out. Nice pass, Opener.
jdonn
Kind of unlucky that north made a negative double.

kgr
Do NOT bid 2S with hands like these imo. Opening 2 and overcalling 2 is much different. It sounds like ♠ are not strong enough....Is that what you meant?
jdonn
Do NOT bid 2S with hands like these imo. Opening 2 and overcalling 2 is much different. It sounds like ♠ are not strong enough....Is that what you meant? I think he meant the hand has too much defense relative to offense. Look at the minors... pigpenz
if he was gonna pass 2♠ doubled which is game, he most likely would pass 1♠doulbed which isnt game.....wasnt your lucky day
neilkaz
I would just overcall 1♠ here.
