1eyedjack
I added my name to the substitute list of two tourneys running simultaneously. As a result I was substituted in to one of the tourneys. On that occasion I would expect the software to auto-remove my name from the sub list of the second tourney. It did not do so.As a result, during the first hand in the first tourney, I was booted to the second tourney where a sub was required and I was selected. Surely this can be improved upon? 1eyedjack
Further to the above I may have something wrong. Just subbed again and this time I received an invitation to sub-in (having first registered as a sub). On the earlier occasion I was sat straight into seats without asking, in both tourneys. Can someone clarify what is supposed to happen here?
dodzi
I'm not sure it is a good idea for the director to be able to seat a substitute at a table without confirmation. It happened to me and I didn't notice for 5 minutes because I was doing other things in the meantime, not sitting waiting for a substitute call that might not come. Frosty
Yes - still some bumps with subbing - both from a Sub's point of view and from the TD's perspective. I continue to have problems with calls to subs who have signed up not being answered and blocking the remaining potential subs. If we cannot bump to the bottom a sub-volunteer who isn't responding, could we send a call to all listed w/the first responder getting first shot? Sometimes I sit for as much as a minute waiting for responses from listed subs. I'm sure the players think I am polishing my nails or something. Subbing without the call is risky - as others here have mentioned, the sub could as easily be on the phone or in the powder room and have no idea they've been seated which defeats the purpose. For this reason I don't do it unless I'm desparate to get past a sub who is blocking the list by not responding. Frosty
