helene_t
I pass. I don't expect to make 3NT or 4♣, let alone 5♣. Not sure what to do if p reopens with a double. I guess I just sign off in 4♣.
kfay
Easy pass. Why? where are we going?
andy_h
sign me up for a pass too
Apollo81
Pass, chance of bidding and making game is less than that of going for a number
rogerclee
I need too much for 3NT to be right. 4♣ is laughably bad.
pclayton
Pass. 3N is a runner up and might work. 4♣ is a nothing bid.

[/hv] IMO 3N = 10, _P = 9, 4♣ = 5.3N won't always make but it's unlikely to be doubled on this auction :) If I passed it'd be because I'm a wuss, unused to upgrading strong 14 HCP hands :)

Sambolino
i don't see a good reason why i wouldn't bid 4c at favorable
655321
I probably bid 3NT. I think it is close between Pass and 3NT. I agree with Nige1 that we will often escape undoubled when the opponents are a passed hand and a preempt.Sometimes when we are several down we are just swapping -140 for -150, no harm done.If partner has ♣A we might have 6 club tricks, which (on top of a spade and one or two hearts) brings us very close to 9 tricks.Sometimes bidding 3NT might talk them out of trying 4♥ which will sometimes make. In short, I am not sure who can make what, so I don't mind bidding 3NT, hoping to play there undoubled. Passing instead of 3NT is of course very reasonable, but I don't like a 4♣ overcall. shanbari
I probably bid 3NT. I agree with Nige1 that we will often escape undoubled when the opponents are a passed hand and a preempt.... this is exact reason put me in 3nt bidder at table, and if i caught club support from partner, double swing would come. obvsiously this idea is not shared by the majority and none of my teammates, even though 3nt succeed. :) here's full hand [hv=d=w&v=e&n=stxxhxxdatxxca9xx&w=sajxxxhxxdkxxcq8x&e=sxxxhkqtxxxxdqjxc&s=skqhajd862ckjt742]399|300|Scoring: IMPW N E SP P 3H 3N [/hv] with best defense, 3nt could be set (heart lead, spade switch), but often not, and i made 3nt with heart continue. you can see 3h would be +1. shan
the hog
H lead s switch is 9 tricks. 6C, 1S 1D 1H.
foo
H lead s switch is 9 tricks. 6C, 1S 1D 1H. yep. In fact both 3N and 4H appear to be cold.
