cranebill
can you assume you have not agreed any form of Lebensohl, please I actually bid a direct 5 clubs, which was doubled by LHO and then redoubled by my partner no one was vulnerable if that makes a difference to your opinion
andy_h
Agree with 2NT lebensohl and passing out 3C. Btw, you can format your hand as 8106596AQ76532 or 8 1065 96 AQ76532 and most people would understand. If lebensohl was not agreed, then I'll opt for a pass then come back with 3C if I'm able to. rogerclee
I'm just going to bid 3NT. It might make, and if it doesn't, it might be a good sacrifice. By the way, you can format your questions like this: ♠8 ♥T65 ♦96 ♣AQ76532 (P) - 1NT - (2♦) - ? using the toolbars above (or typing manually). zasanya
If you are not playing Lebensohl then 3 NT seems a better option than 5♣.If playing for money; 3NT even if you are playing Lebensohl.
Hanoi5
3NT makes more sense than 5♣. And I'd bid it only if I REALLY need the points. I'd go for 3♣ (which allows pd to bid 3NT, though I don't think (s)he'll do it).
bill1157
Bid 3 clubs. Partner can pass this or with a fit bid 3N Bill
rogerclee
Do you guys realize 3♣ is game forcing, whether or not you play lebensohl?
kfay
If this is IMPs I'm bidding 3NT wtp? Give partner the ♣K and we make this. If it's MPs and I'm not playing Lebensohl I'll bid 2NT wtp :P ? If partner accepts I'm happy, if he doesn't maybe it will work out but I wish we were playing 3♣.
bill1157
Do you guys realize 3♣ is game forcing, whether or not you play lebensohl? No didn't realize this. However, I don't think game forcing is a good idea here. Is there some way around it? Bill

Bill I think it is fairly standard these days to play that 2NT here is an artificial puppet to 3♣ (lebensohl), showing many different hand types, so you can sign off in clubs. Inviting in clubs is too tough, and I do not know of anyone who has the ability to invite in a specific suit after this auction. I suppose you could play 3♣ here is invitational and give up all chances of slamming in clubs, but it is definitely nonstandard.
