ouragan1
Hello, I purchased an eee pc, as it is very light to carry with and am able to play BBBO everywhere. The only issue is that I can not install or get BBO on this eee pc. Do you have any idea how to install BBO on eee pc ? I don't have WIndows because eee pc is using LInux. Thanks for your help. inquiry
Welcome to the BBO forum. Here are a couple of resourses for you. 1). If you can get FLASH on your linux box, you can use bboflash to play on line. This is a link to bboflash... Forum post on BBOFLASH 2) IF you prefer to play with the bbo client, you might want to check these two threads (there are other) on this forum dealing with getting BBO program to run under linux... BBO for linux BBO on (Linux) Ubuntu 7.10?, Anyone have it working? hope these help
uday
You can use the eeepc with the flash version of BBO. http://www.bridgebase.com/v2beta A little cramped I had to upgrade to the latest flash player ( was suffering frequent disconnections until I did this) This link might help you upgrade the flash player http://forum.eeeuser.com/viewtopic.php?id=20314
G_R__E_G
On a somewhat related topic - Asus is currently launching an XP version of the EEE. It is available in Canada as of tomorrow - I'm not sure about other countries.
ulven
I've had the eee since early March. I immediately put a stripped version of XP on it and it runs just smooth and fine. There are drivers to be found thru eeeuser forum to emulate 800*600 to be able to put the full BBO klient on it, but I haven't tried it. The flash klient and BBO-tv works fine under IE_7. I'm having unsurmountable connection troubles with Firefox 3 R1. /Ulf
helene_t
Flash works fine after I upgraded to Ubuntu 8 which included a new version of Firefox. Under Ubuntu 7, bboflash 9 was stable but bboflash 10 was not, in my experience. I have had problems with running bboflash and other flash applications at the same time, such as youtube. This is not an issue since I upgraded to Ubuntu 8.

BBO for linux BBO on (Linux) Ubuntu 7.10?, Anyone have it working? hope these help The other option for running the BBO client is to invest in a copy of CrossOver Office (CXO), http://www.codeweavers.com. The BBO client works just fine here (Mandriva 2008, CXO 5.01, an old version of CXO) the only changes needed were to install a few Windows fonts and add the LINUX_WINE=Y line to the [sYSTEM] section of bbover.ini. The only thing I can't get to work is the News popup when I log in, but apart from that, at least three of my regular game (the fourth is variable) are using the BBO client under Linux with no apparent problems. HeavyDluxe
Hi all... Posting here, rather than start a new thread. I just installed ubuntu 8.04 and the lastest WINE package via Synaptic. I installed BBO and it starts/runs fine except for one minor glitch... When you are playing or kibbitzing, the suit symbols on the cards (underneath) the number are not visible - displaying instead as an empty red or black square. The cards, when played, show the suit symbols in the center of the card, but not on the edge. You can imagine this makes it hard to know what your hold if you're void in one suit of either color. :) I copied the symbols.ttf file off my Windows machine and mv'ed it to the .wine/drive_c/windows/Fonts directory as some folks suggested, but the boxes persist. Any clues? Thanks!

HeavyDluxe
That's it... the font needs to be available to *BOTH* the WINE c: drive (~/.wine/drive_c/windows/fonts/) and linux (/usr/local/share/fonts/) Thanks!
