ulven
I would like an option for two partnerships training at the same table. By this I mean:- open a partnership bidding table- you and your partner in one direction- the other partnership in the other direction- set any parameters- deal, bid and when the auction if over, immediately display whole deal- redeal It's like a regular table, but with parameter options and no play. Why this?Because say a team might want to practise bidding against each other, mixing up constructive and competitive auctions and feel playing out the hands slows everything down. Just bid, check layout, bid again. Speedy bidding training in 'live mode'.I would really love this one.
Mbodell
I think that is an excellent idea.
PedroG
Hi, Why not a teaching table and then claim at the end... Pedro

I think this is a great idea, and would be better if you get a full DD analyse for each side in all suits (+ par score). This can even be done while the players are bidding. Ant590
Another one here for the "it's a great idea" camp :)
Finch
It's hardly a great deal more effort to bid the hand, have opening leader claim 13 tricks, other side accept, move on. Now what would be quite nice is the possibility to set up a bidding table with three people - two people practising and one person doing all the opposition bidding. Codo
Now what would be quite nice is the possibility to set up a bidding table with three people - two people practising and one person doing all the opposition bidding. This is great and works since at least a year. :) The table host (the single player) must be there first and then he can make all opposite bidding,... Please use the redeal button instead, otherwise people playing that board at another table might be very surprised.

I also use DealMaster Pro to generate a set of hands that I am happy with so that I am not subject to the randomness of the hand generator. For example, practising against 2-suited 2♥/♠ openers has proved very useful especially as half the pairs will be using them in Pau. In a couple of hours they experience more openers of this type than they will in the actual competition. p
cjames
To those of you that suggests teaching tables etc, Ulven stated that he would like parameters to control HCP, shapes etc. And if you would like to just bid, the you could make a rubber bridge table and then just claim 13 tricks after lead which will not effect other tables like in IMPs and MPs. And I also think this is a very good idea B)
ng:)
My suggestion was on June 2 2004: "One of the best feature of BBO for practice is Partnership Bidding. Unfortunately this feature is not too popular, only 2-3 tables are there. Why? I think the main reason is that after the end of the bidding East-West cards are not visible. I would like to see East-West cards too after bidding, so we could analyse how good our contracts..." Gabor
1eyedjack
I agree with Ulven. The other responses make some good points but no alternatives suggested solve Ulven's problem - that of adding constraints to the deal. Perhaps another solution would be, not (only) to add an opposing pairing to a partnership bidding table, but (also) to add to the table host the facility to impose dealing constraints to a teaching table. You can make E-W cards visible at the end of the bidding by setting the opponents bidding to: A) controlled by host or B) controlled by GIB The parameters from hand generating are quite nice. Although sometimes, if we program the bidding, lets say for opps to open 1 major and make a raise, sometimes the cards do not reflect that (ie our sides bids with 9 spades)

Rossoneri
I think the only option now is to use an external dealer to control the parameters and use a teaching table. Would be nice to have ulven's idea. I for one would foresee myself using it pretty frequently...

LOL the host, or owner of the table controls the bidding-- make yourself owner and bid for the opps as for the BOT, NO IT IS NOT FREE!!! BUT IT IS NOT EXPENSIVE EITHER, YOU ALL COMPLAIN ON BELLY FULL
