Bid 3♣, and when he gets 3♦ back him you double and show your hand much much better at a lower level than you ever could have without his help. If he is not psyching then it's more common than showing hearts, and you don't want to show them anyway. If he is psyching then he probably has a diamond fit and you need a bid for takeout, and lose nothing by having to bid 3♥ natural compared to if he had raised diamonds instead. I know Marshall Miles advocates having a penalty double when they step out of line like this, but the reason I play it takeout is basically that...agree with jdonn :rolleyes:.
