pclayton
If 4N is keycard thats what I will bid. I have the stone nuts for pard who is probably 5=6. 7 is possible.
whereagles
The way pard bid seems to indictate a very good hand with 5 diamonds and 4 spades. There's a tendency for 4252 or even 4261. So 4NT now. Hope pard doesn't take it as... natural!

whereagles
Maybe it shouldn't. But things like that happen...
han
I don't think partner has shown a very strong hand, how else would you bid AQ10xx x KQ10xxx x (and probably weaker). Of course that's a pretty good slam.

ArtK78
Why wouldn't 4NT be natural on this auction? I would be very wary about acting over 4♠. Isn't partner's bidding consistent with: QxxxxxKQJxxxx (would he really make a negative double on those cards?) Of course, his bidding is also consistent with AQT9xxQJxxxxx which is a pretty good slam. If someone would explain to me why 4NT is not natural on this auction, I would be willing to listen. But if I am making a move, my move would be 5♣ - an unambiguous slam try with a spade fit. Whether partner will cooperate on the second hand is far from clear. But at least if he has: AQT9xxAxxxxxx we will get to slam (possible a making grand) and we won't play in 4NT.
blewah
I also believe that 4NT would be natural here. Appreciate enlightment from those who say blackwood, though. Would 5♠ be an option?
P_Marlowe
Dealer: South Vul: Both Scoring: IMP ♠ KJxx ♥ Axxxx ♦ x ♣ AKx 1♥-(3♣)-3♦-(4♣)-DBL-(P)-4♠-(P)-? What's the plan for South? Notes: N/S do not play Negative Free Bid 1H - (3CL) - 3D - (4CL)X - (P) - 4S - (P)??? It is either pass or 5S, I am currently leaningtoward 5S, but ask me tomorow. 5S should be a quantitative inv. to 6S.Even if 4NT is RKCB (most likely), it wont tell you, what you need to know. Partner will certainly hold at least 1 KC, and most likely the Queen of spades as well, what you want to know is, does partner havesomething to spade. With kind regardsMarlowe
