Agree with the bidding so far? What's the next call? EDIT: LHO made a 2C overcall if that changes anything. Echognome
Well we have a great hand and agree it's a likely misfit. However, partner jump rebid 3♦ so he should have a pretty good hand. Our 3♠ bid could be made on a stopper rather than a real suit. I'm definitely not passing 3NT. I'm debating between the conservative 4♥ or something else. Amongst "something elses" I'm considering 4♠ (should show great playing strength) or even 5NT p.a.s. and correcting 6m to 6♥. Still thinking. pclayton
This could be a great hand, or we could struggle. 4♠ seems like a good move here. My second choice is 5♠ but that is so committal.
rogerclee
I think I will bid 5♠, since I would bid 4♠ on hands which are much worse than the one I have.
ArtK78
4♠ seems right. I haven't decided what I am going to do over 5♥.
the hog
4S I guess. 100% not passing 3NT
Apollo81
What about a 4♣ bid? This way we can pass if he bids 4 of either major, and we can suggest 4♥ over 4♦. To me this is not a cue, since we could bid 4♦ over 3NT to suggest diamonds (and I remember a thread recently where this bid was made on xx)

As "this bid means nothing but leaves you room to do everything"? It seems like with your plan as described you might as well bid 4♥ now. Oh I have no idea :) But I seriously doubt that whatever you want it to mean, partner will take it that way. If he is 3073 I would be shocked if he didn't bid 4♦ over it. manudude03
apologies on the mistake on OP. Anyway, full hand: [hv=d=n&v=e&n=s3hqdkqj9854cak85&w=st6hk5dat6cqj9742&e=sj9854h976d732ct3&s=sakq72hajt8432dc6]399|300|Scoring: IMP1D-(P)-1H-(2C)3D-(P)-3S-(P)3NT-(P)-5H-AP[/hv] A kib told me that she thought North had a clear 6D call after 5H. I'm not so sure. End result was 5H+
