cnszsun
I thought of this question when i read firmit's post http://forums.bridgebase.com/index.php?showtopic=25157&hl=. I used to play intermediate jump overcall when we are red and weak jump overcall when we are green. Would you play the same if partner has passed? keylime
I would, and I am of the view of playing IJO's in all situations except white on red these days.
ArtK78
In all my years of playing this game, I only played intermediate jump overcalls with one partner. And the reason I did so was to prevent him from making weak jump overcalls on the worst trash you can imagine.

For examplep 1♣ 3♦ Could be a 0 count or an opening(ish) hand that has no interest in game opposite a passed hand? I am a huge fan of this, but not a big fan of the regular old intermediate jump overcalls.
inquiry
At imps, red versus white, I play intermediate jump overcall. At all other games and vulnerability, I play weak jump overcall (including MP... but I have a source of tricks if Red versus white at mp). Yesterday, I held the following hand, not vul versus vul at imps. ♠54 ♥AK87532 ♦98 ♣KQ2 Partner dealt and passed and the next hand opened 1♦. Here I bid a "weak" 3♥. Could I have missed a game, Yes. Was this suppose to be weak, yes. Did I have an intermediate jump overcall hand, yes. Opposite a passed hand, you have the liberties to do a lot of stuff. Should you desire. Next time i might have a five card suit and 4 hcp at this vulnerability.
kenrexford
I'm in the WJO except Red-v-White IJO crowd. Also, obviously, P-P-IJO. And, preempt-IJO, of sorts.
