CSGibson
Online pickup partner, self-rated advanced, and you have this sequence: [hv=d=s&v=b&s=skq3hq6dkq2cakt76]133|100|Scoring: IMP1♣-(3♥)-4♠-(p),?[/hv] Do you explore for slam? If so, how do you move?

kenrexford
Pass I'd make a slam move this exact same way. :P
Hanoi5
5♥, I'll pass 5♠ but can persuade them not to lead hearts if pd goes to 6...
CSGibson
If playing with a pick-up partner is making a difference, would you make a move with a regular partner?
pclayton
I will proceed with a pass.
rogerclee
I'd pass with a competent partner. With a BBO pickup though, I would just bid 6♠.
CSGibson
The other question: What do you expect partner to have for a 4♠ bid?
rogerclee
The other question: What do you expect partner to have for a 4♠ bid? With a reasonable player, something like a 3♠ preempt. With a BBO pickup, ♠AJxxxxx ♥x ♦Ax ♣Qxx.
CSGibson
The other question: What do you expect partner to have for a 4♠ bid? With a reasonable player, something like a 3♠ preempt. With a BBO pickup, ♠AJxxxxx ♥x ♦Ax ♣Qxx. That's pretty good. Partner actually had: [hv=s=sajtxxxxhxdaxxxcx]133|100|[/hv] making the 5 spade call the winner (if you play that it asks for a heart control). I was wondering if it was reasonable to expect 5 level safety opposite that bidding, though.
Codo
I was wondering if it was reasonable to expect 5 level safety opposite that bidding, though. no... he surely denied such a control rich hand with his 4 Spade bid. I had played him for AJxxxx,xx,xx,xx.
P_Marlowe
Hi, it is either Pass or 4NT, I have decided to go with 4NT, but Pass is finde as well. The 3rd option 5S, I would only use, if know mypartner pretty well. With kind regardsMarlowe
P_Marlowe
If playing with a pick-up partner is making a difference, would you make a move with a regular partner? With my regular partner 4S would be a fit jump, he has a forcing 3S bid available. Assuming it is a fit jump, I surely would make a move, most likely 5S, which would be a quantitaivetry.
