rogerclee
Matchpoints, Red vs White, First Seat ♠Ax ♥K9xxx ♦AT9x ♣Ax 1♥ - (2♠) - P - (P)?
jillybean
3♦ but then I might have opened 1nt
Echognome
Dbl... As per passing 3♣ or not, would depend somewhat on methods. But assuming no further agreements, I pass.
Free
Dbl is clear, what to do after 3♣ depends on your methods...
Codo
I would bid 3 Club over pds 2 NT (Lebensohl) bid and I would not pass a possible 3 Club. If we did not agree on anysohl here, I would pass 3 Club, accepting some ridicolous contracts from time to time.
whereagles
Dbl and play lebensohl by responder
Cascade
This depends quite a lot on how much or little and what hands partner can act on over 2♠. I think it is relatively unlikely that the opponents will push to 3♠ so our main way to win is to find a diamond fit. Other chances are a playable club fit or a spade penalty. One opponent has made a weak jump and most do not freely bid again after that and the other opponent has already not raised to 3♠ which most would do fairly freely with a wide range of hand at this vulnerability. Bidding (or doubling) may work out badly at these colours even if we have a fit and given there is no guarantee of that I can't see how bidding is right. I reckon we will give up too many 200s even when we are not doubled to make it not worthwhile. Pass!!!
gnasher
I don't know why anyone wants to be playing Lebensohl on this hand. This seems a good advertisement for 2NT as "two places to play".

This seems a good advertisement for 2NT as "two places to play". Point is, opener can have a fairly good hand and responder sometimes will have to pass with 7-8 hcp. 2NT as lebensohl will tell responder's really weak passes from moderate ones, so it seems more useful than 2NT as scrambling. Yes, I understand the benefits of Lebensohl. But on this hand I don't want to be playing it.
Halo
Double and pass seems clear cut to me.
Codo
I agree that scrambling is a better tool for this hand. But I would not believe that I can use this without discussion. I think with scambling avaiable, this hand is never a problem, or is it?
helene_t
I think with scambling avaiable, this hand is never a problem, or is it? I would say the opposite. Without scrambling it's a wtp pass. With scrambling I would have to think about it :D
han
I also prefer scrambling here. Double and pass seems automatic.
