Actually, this is a fairly new partnership, and I'm fairly certain that I was the only one in the room eligible to play flight C GNT, so there are a bunch of situations where we're going by instincts instead of discussion. If LHO ruffed, I was planning on overruffing and ruffing a diamond high, seeing if either diamonds split 3-3 or if a double squeeze would occur around the heart suit. gnasher Posted April 15, 2008 Report Share Posted April 15, 2008 With spades 3=1 and diamonds 3-3, East could beat you by taking ♣K and playing a heart. The same would apply whenever there was a double squeeze with hearts as the pivot. The knowledge that you had five clubs ought to make this play straightforward to find. It seems to me that, if West's lead is likely to be a singleton, a better line is ♣A, ♦A, ♦ ruff (assume no one shows out), ♠K, ♠A.
