firmit
♠ 98xxx♥ AK9xxx♦ -♣ 97 This hand does not fit in anywhere in my system... at least for an opening bid.Let's say it's first or second seat - any type of scoring. What's your call? Are you afraid you're not gonna get into the auction later?
jdonn
This hand does not fit in anywhere in my system... at least for an opening bid. If only there was something to do when your hand doesn't fit as an opening bid in your system...... :)
pclayton
Pass. Sub-minimum 5-5's+ are easier to describe later.
kenrexford
I'd pass. I play a pass as a multi. It shows somewhere between 0-11 HCP's, possibly with two suits of the same deck. At my rebid, I clarify.
han
Seems dangerous Ken, what if they preempt, how will you be able to untangle all those different hands?
jtfanclub
When I have both majors, I'm usually able to show them. If the spades were diamonds, I'd be more tempted to make a call.
skjaeran
Pass. Sub-minimum 5-5's+ are easier to describe later. 5-6 with the 6-bagger by far the better suit might prove harder to show. :P Still, with a hand not suitable for any opening one has to pass. pclayton
doh, obvious 4♥ opener at MPs :) White/red I can stomach this. I have a partner who would make this call at equal as well.
Cascade
5=6 can be very difficult to bid. Favourable I am very tempted to bid something. Nil vulnerable I might bid too. I am not convinced that this hand is going to be easy to bid later if I pass. The extra heart length and the disparate texture will make it hard to either show both of your suits or emphasize the hearts. Whatever I think it is more likely that I will not get to describe this hand accurately than I will have an auction that I am completely happy with.
