what's your bid

Recommended Posts

If playing SAYC, pass. Partner just limited her hand.

If playing 2/1, I'm not sure. With RHO showing some spades, 3NT might be dicey. The only way I see partner forcing game and RHO having his/her double is if partner is strongly 2-suited in the minors, in which case we're likely headed for 5.

I should have ask what 3d from pard means. Why 3d and not pass ?

Can't pass it- in both SAYC and 2/1, 2 promises a rebid.

Honestly, I would have passed the double, although I'm sure I'm in the minority again. I don't think the diamonds are worth showing, and after the X, I don't have to.

I don't think the diamonds are worth not showing.

Partner made a forcing bid. Bidding the cheapest four-card suit when the auction has not been disturbed is just normal cooperation. If I pass partner will assume I do not have four semi-decent diamonds. Occasionally that will matter.
