firmit
The advantage of the convention after a pre-emptive bid is quite obvious. Can it easily translate after the below auction too? (1M)-p-(2M)-4m! : 4c OM + 4+ minor
655321
Yes, assuming you meant 5+ card suits instead of 4+ suits. You don't bid like this with 4 card suts.
inquiry
It is very useful on the auction provided. Why, the opponents have 1) defined their fit, 2) one has limited their hand. There is little advantage to preempts now (that ship has sailed). The leaping michaels gets you in the battle, and makes your OBAR doubles of 2♥ more "descriptive". I don't mind the four card major aspect of this jump at all.
pclayton
Its frequently played after 1M - 2M, but it doesn't come up much.
Cascade
We play it on this auction and actually lots of other auctions. Basically we play that 4minor new suit in competition is never natural. It is almost always two suited.
karlson
I play it as LM in that auction too. Don't think I would assume so with a pickup expert (though I would take 2M-4m as LM).
Guest Jlall
I don't like leaping michaels in this auction, and would prefer to be able to jump to 4m to suggest to partner that he should save in 5. If I have a michaels hand I am happy to bid 3H which enables me to stop in 3S anyways after hearts. I don't care about not having a bid to ask for a stopper. I suppose that partner not knowing my minor sucks a bit if LHO is about to bid 4M but I still want a bid for a hand like x xx Kxx AQJxxxx
benlessard
We are discussing this and (1M)---4m as artificial 2 suiter GF. This allow to make a michael and bid again for sacrifice without showing extras values while bidding the GF directly setup FP. Curiously these hand are happening more often then the 4 level preempt. (1C)----4D(1M)----4m are auction that rarely happen for us. I think its a statistic fluke but the strong 2 suiter happen a lot more. (1M)-----P-----(2M)------4m as natural is even less frequent.
