I would really feel better if King was in longer suits..

This one would be unanimous.

I voted for 4 but I am not that happy with it. There is a real danger when we are this light that partner will move expecting more and we could get too high. We can make 4 though with many minimum and near minimum takeout doubles so I must bid.

But our hand is strong in terms of playing strength.

I rerally think that with most hands he will bid on, we have a t least 5 Level safety.

Will he have less then AKxx,AJx,Axxx,xx to move on?

Partner should pass our 4 level freebid at least 93.61% of the time. I think agreeing "a 4 level freebid is a signoff" is better than agreeing "random strong NT's may move on if they like their honor location and control count".

Partner might have more:

AKxx AJx KQJx xx

I would bid 4 but maybe 4 is better.

They will probably bid 5 and I think this hand is worth another bid.

In that case it's more flexible to bid spades first and hearts later.

OTH this is probably the best way to reach a slam and go one off.

No, 4 is not better.

There was a recent thread where advancer was 4-4 in the majors. On those hands, the reason it is normal to bid 1 is so that next round you can bid 2, and play in your best (8 card) fit at the 2 level.

This auction is very different. Partner has doubled 3 for takeout, and we have a QT987x major. We don't need to look any further for our trump suit.

If you are going to bid twice, make them both hearts.
