Guest Jlall
I'd just go 4H, like putting LHO under pressure a lot

ArcLight
This can easily make, if pard has the right miniumum cards. The chances of success may be a little less than 50%In IMPS I would bid game.In MP scoring - If you bid 3H, the ops need to bid a minor at the 4 level (or 5+ level). I think 3H is enough.
han
Do people play 3H as forcing or non-forcing?
skjaeran
Do people play 3H as forcing or non-forcing? Most probably, yes. :( (It's forcing for me.)
neilkaz
I'd just go 4H, like putting LHO under pressure a lot I agree..it is a 7 card suit headed by AJT
han
I like to play 3H as non-forcing and I would certainly bid it if the club ace was a small card. Therefore I think I have to bid 4H now. Of course playing 3H as non-forcing will hurt on some hands. But usually if they open at the 1-level, partner overcalls and RHO bids a new suit (even preemptively), I don't have a very strong hand. When I do have a strong hand I can often either jump to game with a single suiter, raise or cue with support, bid 3NT with a stopper, or double with a more flexible hand. Given my partner's overcalling style I must have quite a strong hand for wanting to force to game without a fit or a strong suit of my own. If your partners overcall more soundly then I understand wanting to play 3H as forcing.
P_Marlowe
Hi, I would force to game. With kind regardsMarlowe So, I assume you meant 3♥? I am not sure, if 3H is forcing or nonforcing,it may not even be natural (or that the jumpis natural). What ever it takes to get to 4H, I would go this way. Most likely biding 4H. rogerclee
I would always assume 3♥ is forcing without discussion. I think there is a reasonable argument for 3♥ to be NF here, but it would definitely be forcing if partner had overcalled at the two-level. I think I would 3♥, since I don't want to commit 100% to strain just yet.
Apollo81
I like 3♥. LHO knows RHO's hand much better than I know partner's or vice versa, so I don't think preempting has that much value. Nothing here suggests a great fit to me. I think most people would take 3♥ as forcing or at least quasi forcing.
