rogerclee
This auction: 1♦ - (P) - 1♥ - (1♠)3♥ - (4♠) - 5♦* Is 5♦ here a cuebid or a suggestion to play 5♦?
helene_t
I would just call it "to play" rather than COG, at least at IMPs. Opener will not correct to 5♥ at IMPs. (Except maybe if he has a 4432 18-count that downgraded due to spade values).

Guest Jlall
5D is definitely natural and non forcing. Some of these posts lately are really surprising. Even if you bid and raise a major you can definitely suggest openers first suit later.
whereagles
To me it's a cue, probably has S/D control and lacks club one. Seems like you guys like responding 1♥ on 3 cards :)
kenrexford
4NT RKCB5♣ Last Train5♦ Play
the hog
To me it's a cue, probably has S/D control and lacks club one. Seems like you guys like responding 1♥ on 3 cards :) Agree that it is a cue. H is the agreed suit. This is totally different from the hand that jumped to 6D in another post. "Some of these posts lately are really surprising. Even if you bid and raise a major you can definitely suggest openers first suit later." Why on earth would you when you have the ability to play a whole level lower and you have found a 4-4 fit?
Finch
Funnily enough, I agree that it is totally different to the hand that bid 6D (it was not a jump) in the other post. This one is far more clearly natural. You are in a competitive auction. You have to go to the 5-level in order to play the hand anyway. It is hardly impossible that you have an 8-card heart fit and a 9- or 10-card diamond fit. Mind you, saying that it's the play doesn't mean that you can't bid on over it, because it's a descriptive bid: it says I have enough to bid at the 5-level and I have a diamond fit. We had an auction yesterday that went 1C 1D x* 3D4H 4S 5C P6H *4+ heartswhen simply knowing of the club fit opposite was enough to let opener bid slam

Cascade
Natural. This strongly suggests playing in diamonds rather than hearts.
pclayton
I think its to play. If RHO would have passed its a cue.

That does change matters.
