But you're wrong when you say someone's gotta do it. B) A negative double is better by far IMO, as 2♠ clearly overstates your values (unless you play it as NF). The worst thing that might happen (not often) after a X is partner jumping to 4♥. He'll be unbalanced then though, and you can revert to 5♦.
