Azzkikr
Hi all. i Am going to run a tournament sometime in the next couple of weeks. its going to be a huge endeavour and i am going to need lots of help directing it. The format of it will be a:Boards: 120rounds: 12so 10 boards per roundMinutes: 7 mins per boardso 1hr 10 mins per roundStyle: impsType: survivor 50% cut Basically this tournament will be an elimination. I dont know if it can be set up as such but it will be a qualifying 4 rounds or 3 depending. and then 1/2 the field will be eliminated till we have one winner. i will be offering up 512 places. you wil qualify for 4 rounds. then then fields will be halved till there are 4 pairs left and then 2 rounds of finals. till someone wins. this is alot of boards. the way it will be run will be have the matches in one sitting with an hour break after the first cut, and then a 6 hour break after the first 6 rounds. this is just a proposal to see if as a group we can get some logisitcs on this. the reason is is that we will need a schedule of directors ( you might need an army of them) and then advertise advertis advertis.) it would be nice to see how it goes. So this is just a proposal to see what people think. This will be a whole weekend. the gaps in time can be how ever. So any comments any views on this. mr1303
Sounds like a lot of fun to me, although I could get square-eyed after a while. Count me in as a co-director.
uday
Won't work ,a) IIRC max boards per tourney is 64.b) Server doesnt currently support long breaks (indeed, any breaks) between rounds In general, massive events ( massive number of entrants ) are not great for the server. Not that you'd get a huge crowd to a marathon event anyway :-)
Azzkikr
well thats a bit of a pity Uday. thanks for the info... puts a tear in my eye though. Ah well gives me something to think about then...
Trpltrbl
Try it out easy with 64 brds and maybe 8 brds per round. And see how this goes, it will still take 8 hours to play, kinda like a mini-marathon. Mike :D
