Codo
[hv=d=w&v=n&s=sj743hj98dajt8cak]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] So the bidding starts with: pass pass 3 ♣ and your bid is?
Guest Jlall
I would definitely pass, but it's not a wtp.
rogerclee
I pass and don't feel very tempted to double, though not as much as "WTP."
P_Marlowe
Pass, wtp, ... sometimes they get you. The simple reason is, I dont have a sensible bid, move the club values to another suit and you will get a "X, wtp" response from me. With kind regardsMarlowe
Trinidad
This obviously depends on partner's level of aggresion in second seat and on his weak options. My partners would open all balanced 12 point hands and unbalanced 11 point hands. Furthermore, they could have shown a weak (5-10) hand with 5 spades and a minor (2♠) or a weak hand with 45+ in the majors (2♥) or weak two in a major (2♦). Therefore, if we have a nine card spade fit, the hand will either be balanced (5(332)), or his spade suit will be lousy or he won't have 5 hcp's. So for practical purposes, the best that can happen to us by doubling is that we find a 4-4 spade fit or a 5-3 heart fit. Given those conditions (which will not apply to everyone), I would pass relatively happily. Rik
Cascade
I've been passing these hands lately and i think that is right. But I have had a run of bad results.
Fluffy
Pass, at MPs I'd double just to get with the field.
joker_gib
I will also pass and pray....
pclayton
I double. Game is still possible, but I'd like to at least compete for the partial. LHO is a passed hand, so I doubt we will get roughed up much.
gwnn
I'd double at the table, but I would like myself better if I were a passer.
skjaeran
I'm a passer here. If we can make a partial 3♣ will mostly go down. Making game is heavily odds against, so I'll be content to do what I believe gives ut the best shot at a positive score.
Edmunte1
Pass, paying the preempt. Double would too often work out badly.
jdonn
This is really borderline, I feel like pass, but double if the club king was in another suit and I had the same shape, it's that close. I certainly wouldn't hate partner for doubling.
gerry
We open aggressively, hence happy to pass.
kenrexford
I bid 3NT in this situation all of the time. I'm not proud of it, but I do it anyway. Sometimes it works; sometimes I get yelled at. I can't help it.
jchiu
I double. Game is still possible, but I'd like to at least compete for the partial. LHO is a passed hand, so I doubt we will get roughed up much. What about getting Joeled?
oldman5757
I pass at IMPs. We don't have a game so pretty much any plus will be ok, and P can still compete for the partial. I think you must dbl at MPs and compete for the partial directly, even tho there's a very good chance we'll go minus because P will bid too much. :)
helene_t
I'd double at the table, but I would like myself better if I were a passer. LOL, I know the feeling. But in this particular situation I am probably a little too conservative rather than too aggressive.
