inquiry
[hv=d=s&v=n&s=saj7543h3daqca976]133|100|Scoring: IMPWhy are all of these with me RED. Opponents silent, world class partner and opponents, once again you are me. Would you have bid 2♣ to start off with? Having been forced to bid 2♣ what do you call over partner's 2♥ bid? 1♠ - 1NT (forcing)2♣ - 2♥?[/hv]
han
I bid 2S. I think it is slightly more likely that 2S while 2H goes down than the other way around.
655321
2♠ Agree with 2♣, and now 2♠ seems completely normal.
Echognome
We actually have a pretty good dummy for ♥. Our aces will take tricks no matter the denomination and partner's hand may only be useful in hearts. If I bid 2♠ I would do so not as a correction, but as a forward going move. I'm going to pass, but I think it's very close.
Guest Jlall
2C is very normal and now I bid 2S which I also consider very normal. 1-5 and 2-6 are both easily possible for partner, and I think 2-5 is even possible (though not the norm for that shape). Big BTW: I don't think 2S shows extras, as I would bid 2C with almost all 6-4 hands.
kfay
2♠ for me. 2♣ seems fine to me.
Finch
2N - protect the queen of diamonds would be a very clever call
kgr
2N - protect the queen of diamonds would be a very clever call :) Works even better if you bid it before partner bids 1NT
Fluffy
with 10-12 I thikn it is better to rebid 2♠ with a 6-4, on a forcing NT context at least. This tells partner that I had a 6 card suit, and he knows that might be the reason why I opened at the 1 level. so it is not that 2♠ promises slicy extras, but at least a decent opening. pass has my simpaties, but I think making game is not impossible, so 2♠. kenrexford
If partner could have bid 2♦ BART, then he has six hearts. As you are playing with a WC partner and against WC opponents, I'm sure you agreed to BART. :) So, partner has 6-1 or 6-2, or even 6-0. The scoring is IMPs. So, I think I pass if my assumptions are correct.
Cascade
There still might be a game so I take one more move. We have extra strength and extra distribution. I show all of this by not passing and bid 2♠.
skjaeran
I think it's very close between pass and 2♠. If I was sure we should stop at the 2-level, I'd probably pass now. But we still just might have a game, so I'll take another bid; 2♠.
Halo
Pass. Partner is 1 or 0 in spades. Let the weak hand play the misfit.
pclayton
I had planned on rebidding 2♠ when I started with 2♣ and I don't see any reason why I shouldn't finish this plan. Pard might even have 5 hearts on this bidding.
jdonn
Wow surprising answers, I think this is wtp 2♠.
skjaeran
Wow surprising answers, I think this is wtp 2♠. Well, that really depends upon what hands you expect partner to rebid 2♥ on. If that's frequently done on a 5-card suit, 2♠ is blindingly obvious. If you expect a 6-card suit from partner and short spades, pass will more often be the winning bid. Well that's a matter of judgment not system (obviously no BART here since we would have been told.) So I guess it's another way of me saying it's a wtp 2♠ over the hands on which I believe people should be judging to bid 2♥.

whereagles
Agree with auction and bid 2♠ now. I'm not adverse to the idea that 2♠ now shows extras...
