irdoz
[hv=d=e&s=sjh5dakqxxxxxxcak]133|100|Scoring: IMP1c-??[/hv] This 11 trick hand occurred while kibitzing - and lho opened 1c before it got to you. (I only put this up because it caused a kibitzer debate about 3nt or 5d or how to look for 1 ace after lho opens)...
the hog
Well I'd never play 3NT. Is 4Nt an ace ask? If it is that bid is obvious. Certainly haven't discussed this with any pd lol. Probably just bid 5D to try and chop them out of any auction.
Fluffy
highly dependant on the opponents, but as Ron suggests, trying to en the auction at the 5 level (often doubled) is probably a good strategy.
Cascade
My simulations suggest that partner will have an ace nearly 1/3 of the time. In addition there is a small chance of a swindle when he has the ♣Q and a trump entry. It would be nice to be able to bid the slam when he has an ace. We have a method for this hand if the opening bid was 3♣ - we play 4NT asks for aces. Perhaps it should be the same over 1♣. Over 3♣ of course I would be happier punting that partner had an ace but more worried about missing the Grand.
whereagles
Well, I'm just gonna play the odds: 5♦. If I was in a joker mood, I'd try 1♦, 2♦, 3♦, 4♦ DOUBLE, +1 :P

Free
Please don't shoot me for this: 4♣ Gerber  No serious, I'd bid a simple 5♦.
Codo
Maybe I try 3 ♣, annoncing my running diamonds and if pd denies a club stopper, I simply go for 5 Diamonds. Maybe this will make it less acctractive for them to defend on the fifith level, cause they will fear that my hand looks more like: Axx,Kx,AKQxxxx,x. But no, as always I chicken out and bid a simple 5 Diamond.
