the hog Posted March 18, 2008 Report Share Posted March 18, 2008 Well I'd never play 3NT. Is 4Nt an ace ask? If it is that bid is obvious. Certainly haven't discussed this with any pd lol. Cascade Posted March 18, 2008 Report Share Posted March 18, 2008 My simulations suggest that partner will have an ace nearly 1/3 of the time. In addition there is a small chance of a swindle when he has the ♣Q and a trump entry. It would be nice to be able to bid the slam when he has an ace. We have a method for this hand if the opening bid was 3♣ - we play 4NT asks for aces. Perhaps it should be the same over 1♣. Codo Posted March 18, 2008 Report Share Posted March 18, 2008 Maybe I try 3 ♣, annoncing my running diamonds and if pd denies a club stopper, I simply go for 5 Diamonds. Maybe this will make it less acctractive for them to defend on the fifith level, cause they will fear that my hand looks more like: Axx,Kx,AKQxxxx,x.
