What's your bidding plan? If you double, please include follow-ups for partner's likely responses.

I think you are pretty much forced to bid, treating the hand as balanced. If they were vul passing would have a lot more going for it, but not vul we are too likely to have a game that an undoubled penalty won't compensate for.

I think I would still pass, hoping to get enough +100/+150's instead of -50/-100 to compensate for the times I lose a 400. My source of tricks is shot to hell and my partner couldn't overcall a heart so they may be able to run hearts or pard may be very weak with 5 hearts and try to get out there, etc. I am not optimistic on this hand though of course sometimes we just have game on power.

What is the opp nt range ? If opps are playing weak nt then 1D is probably a 15-17 balanced in wich case im happy to pass 1D. If they play strong nt then 1D is probably 12-14 bal in wich case partner rate to have some pts making game too likely to pass 1D with satisfaction.

Of course sometimes opener will have an unbalanced hand or a balanced 18-19 but because of my hand and the absence of preemptive bids these are quite unlikely.

So X and

1H---2Nt

1S---2D

1Nt--3Nt

2C--2D
