You're playing inverted minors and you hear a single raise of your 1 opening from pard. You dont have any other agreements although you can assume partner is 'advanced'

If you post 2NT, you are wrong. You dont have any agreements so partner could pass this. However you are pretty confident that partner will interpret 3x as a splinter and 3NT as 18-19 balanced

I would splinter.

Yes I know some of you will not like splintering on a stiff king. We do it frequently and seem to survive. For quite a while we treated stiff honours as if we were balanced and that had problems of its own.

I first thought 2 but I like 3 better.

It shows extras (2 doesn't, although it doesn't deny them) and will get pard excited about the A, which could be a useful pitch for a heart.

I think 3 can only backfire if pard holds QJx. With a weaker holding, 3N might not be right, and with a stronger holding, pard is bidding it anyway.

I don't know what the posters are attempting to accomplish with a 2 bid.

I am bidding 2. Partner will probably assume that my 2 bid shows something in hearts, but my later bidding will make it clear that my bid is a cue bid.

I am assuming that I have the stronger hand. So I should take control of the slam exploration.

I would bid 2 Spade if I had discussed that my bids on the second level show suits. F.E: in wj2005 you use this approach. If I play a stopper showing style, I bid 2 Heart.

In the given context- just simple rules- I would just splinter. Pd won't misunderstand that.
