Free
Ever heard of "none of these above"?? I guess Misho can't vote, because meta-overcalls will bid 4♣ but not with 5-5... :( I'll probaby shoot 3NT.
luke warm
i doubled, planning to pull 4♦ to 5♣.. pard would bid hearts if he had 4 of them... unless 4♣ is conventional, i think it's wrong to bid (natural that is) cuz it seems a tad unilateral.. if pard bids 3nt over my x, i pass... it might make, but more importantly he has to play it :(
the hog
I'm scared to x, because partner might bid D at a high level. He won't be able to bid 3N, that is unrealistic with my S honors. 4C probably shows 5C&5H if we are playing some non leaping Leaping Michaels. Doesn't leave much apart from 3N, does it? I am not enthusiastic, however. (I am even more worried now, because I just noted that Free made the same bid.) :)

If got dbled, i might pull to 4c. I am not worrying s, but d. LHO may have a solid d suit to run.
Gerben47
I dislike double a lot. 4♣ with only 4 hearts is a misdescription. I'll follow Hamman's rule and go for the money in 3NT.
inquiry
3NT at matchpoints, what's the problem?
mishovnbg
Ever heard of "none of these above"?? I guess Misho can't vote, because meta-overcalls will bid 4♣ but not with 5-5... :D I'll probaby shoot 3NT. ----------------------------------------------------Hi Frederick! ------You probably didn't read meta overcalls (as well as NTC, hehe), else you will know 3NT is natural bid by meta and can be based on good minor suit, how in example. 4♣ is rf and show ♥ suit too, but probably at least 5 cards at 4 level, if overcaller plan to pass 4♥ from p, but can be 5+m-4♥ too, if he plan to continue. In posted example 3NT is ok by meta, as well as sequence:(3♠) - 4♣ - (?p) - 4♥(?p) - 4NT: nf, slam try, 5+♣-4♥-stopper♠-♦shortness ------Whith above sequence you can reach good slam with a few, but well placed hcp like: xx,Axxx, xxxxx,Kx, while 3NT is down or at least reasonable contract 5♣ witth: xx, QJx, xxxx, xxxx while 3NT is many down. ------MP is strange and wild bridge. My bidding will depend of my result at the moment and if I don't need top, I will bid 3NT too, so I vote for 3NT. --------------------------------------------------------Misho
joker_gib
I close my eyes and go for 3NT :D
WGF_Flame
I open my eyes and bid 3nt :D Its the practicle contract, it can be good even when p got 4 hearts, if the hearts dont break.
Trpltrbl
MP's either 3 NT or 6 ♣, depends on my game, if I need a good score to go somewhere, I will bid 6 ♣. Mike :D
